The Package Manager is the graphical interface to PiSi. This is the user-friendly interface to add, remove and update packages. It also features the auto-update feature to monitor security updates.
You can reach it from many ways in Pardus:
- From system tray if you selected that in Kaptan Desktop or activated from Package Manager settings.
- System tab in Tasma
- If your Pardus version is greater than or equal to 2007.2 Pardus Menu>Install/Uninstall Software.
If you cannot find the applications you want in, it means they cannot be found on the Pardus repository, the following are two alternative repositories:
http://paketler.pardus.org.tr/contrib-2008/ http://paketler.pardus-linux.org/users-2008/
To use the above repositories, Package Manager > Settings > Configure Package Manager > Repositories > Add Repository. After you apply the changes PiSi will automatically update.
