Who needs this?

This article aims to help users who broke thier xorg configuration and faced with a blank screen after next booting of their Pardus installation.

Booting Pardus in safe mode

Before booting Pardus you see a blue sceen with a leopard face in the background (this is called grub screen), which allows you to choose an operating system to start your computer with.

While your computer is in that screen, choose Pardus and press e button on your keyboard. Then go to second line (begginning with kernel) by pressing down arrow key on your keyboard. Press e again and append this at the end of the line: xorg=safe. After pressing Enter and b, Pardus will start in safe graphics mode (640x480 or 800x600 resolution).

Restoring your old xorg.conf

If you have saved a backup for your xorg.conf, copy it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf using Pardus>Programs>System>More>File Manager - Super User Mode. If you don't have a backup, uninstall any drivers that caused the blank screen and delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, so it will be recreated after rebooting Pardus.
