Select newest directory > enu (or other language) > download the .bin version (at this moment) AdbeRdr9.3.3-1_i486linux_enu.bin
  
select: x86.tar.gz file or the x86.tar.gz2

To install Adobe Acrobat Reader .bin:
(there does not appear to be 64 bit versions as at 05-06-2008)

:# Browse in Dolphin to the directory where you have downloaded the file and make the .bin file executable with right-click > Properties > Permissions > mark at 'Is executable' >OK
save the file to your desktop (+- 47Mg)

:# Open a terminal with F4 and start the installer with:

sudo ./AdbeRdr9.3.3-1_i486linux_enu.bin
  
To install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 using a tarball installer

Result:
  1. Open a terminal window.

sudo ./AdbeRdr9.3.3-1_i486linux_enu.bin
  2. Change directory (using the cd command) to the directory that contains the tarball archive.

Open a terminal

The menu entry is (after a new start of the computer) in Menu > Office.  
  cd into 'AdobeReader' folder as

SU in a terminal type: ./INSTALL

this will install acrobatreader into /opt/ for you

Adobe Acrobat Reader
