This is a manual about creating an USB device in order to test any Computer/Notebook/Netbook whether it's 100% Pardus compliant. This can only be used when the computer can be started from an USB device (see manual and/or Bios of the computer).

This tool can be used when buying a new computer and other purposes. This method has the advantage that all available video card drivers are present and also the latest updates.

What is needed

• A USB device (stick/HDD/memory card) with a minimum size of 8GB . After installation ~ 2.8 GB will be left as free space.
• A DVD/USB device with the Pardus-2011-i686-installation.iso (made with K3B or this manual)

Installation

1. Start the installation of Pardus 2011 and select the 8GB device as installation target.

2. Create a single Ext4 partition (whole device) and set this as '/' partition.

3. Use 'Default settings' at boot loader settings.

4. After the installation (which takes ~ 1 hour) has finished (including user creation) it's recommended to make a backup image file with f.i. Clonezilla (avalable on Parted Magic).

5. Apply all available updates (and maybe create another image).

6. Modify the following setting to make sure the 8GB device will start on any computer.

System Settings > Boot Manager > Edit (top item) > and add ' noresume ' to the end of the Boot Options > OK

7. Install all available video card drivers:

sudo pisi it xorg-video-nvidia-current nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig xorg-video-intel xorg-video-fglrx -y

8. The 8GB USB device is now ready for use.
