This document explains how to correctly configure Brother MFC-7320 on Pardus.

Installing the package

Install the necessary packages by typing:

Pardus 2008

sudo pisi it http://cekirdek.pardus.org.tr/~ozan/dist/binaries/2008/brother-mfc7320-2.0.2-1.pisi

Pardus 2009

sudo pisi it http://cekirdek.pardus.org.tr/~ozan/dist/binaries/2009/brother-mfc7320-2.0.2-1.pisi

Configuring the printer

The configuration is automatically done after the package installation. Just restart the CUPS service:

service cups restart

Configuring the scanner

For installing the scanner, please refer to the related wiki entry Brother scanner support for DCP and MFC models.

Uninstalling the drivers

Remove the installed package using console:

sudo pisi rm brother-mfc7320

Troubleshooting

If your printer doesn't work after restarting the CUPS service, remove the automatically configured MFC7320 printer either from TASMA (Pardus 2008, Corporate2) or from systemsettings (Pardus 2009); unplug and replug your printer and wait for a while for automatic configuration.
