Pardus Installation

This device has no CD drive. So you may either use an external CD drive or create a USB installation disc.

Press F9 to select boot device when starting the machine.

Only thing you have to pay attention is to write ssb.blacklist=1 in first screen and press Enter. Installation will hang if you don't do this. (This problem is possibly caused by a conflict in Broadcom wireless driver)

WiFi

You have to force using wl module. To do that:

  • Press Alt+F2.
  • Write kdesu kwrite /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 and press enter.
  • Add this line at the end of file and save it: wl
  • wl module will load next time you start Pardus.

You may connect using Network Manager after loading the module.

3G Broadband Modem

You have to use the firmware files (amss.mbn and apps.mbn) from Windows XP driver_TR or Windows XP driver_EN.

Install gobi_loader from Package Manager and copy firmware files in /lib/firmware/gobi/ directory.

When the modem device (/dev/ttyUSB0) is ready, you may connect using KPPP.
